Hey guys, I am debating if I should get the touring model or grand touring 6MT with nav. My concern is that if its better to modify the touring or just get the other and be done with it. Your responses are very much appreciated.

Thanks
Terrance

The navi isn't that important, if you are a guy you'll find your way. You have to get 6mt, if you don't you might as well buy a ford focus.

Welcome.

Consider the differences, and what price those differences are worth to you. Pretty simple decision.

If I understand you correctly, you are saying that if you get the grand touring you will be completely satisfied and will have no desire to mod. In that case, I would say get the grand touring if you already know it will satisfy you.

If you get a touring, at what point will you be satisfied modding? After adding brembos like the grand touring? Or adding intake, plenum spacer, exhaust, high flow cats, wheels, etc. etc. ... or forced induction? Once the bug bites, you will probably never be satisfied and far surpass what a grand touring would cost. But you will have a car that outperforms the grand touring.

I guess it depends on your ability to resist modifying the car. Nissan's website lists a $3,400 difference in the two cars, which I guess isn't too bad for wheels, brakes, and navigation. However, it would be a waste if you were going to change those things later. Finances willing, a top model like the grand touring would certainly be very desirable. You will have a Z either way, so its not like you can make a bad decision. Good luck.

Thanks alot for your inputs guys! I have made up my mind to go with Grand Touring 6MT since I am not gonna mod the rims and brakes. I would eventually mod my suspension first and then probably look into forced induction options. Anyhow, I am TRULY EXCITED to own one. Thanks again, and I'll be sharing my experience soon enough.

6MT is the way to go if youre buying a 300HP sports cars IMO...dont get me wrong i woulda bought an AUTO if i had to, but MT is the way of the Z! lol...also Navi is cool and the ONLY purpose it serves in the Z is bragging rights, and bling bling factor. good luck!
