06 Z Dyno numbers with bolt ons
Hit up a the dynojet at AAM on Saturday. Pulled 272whp and 261trq. Just thought I'd throw these numbers out there for comparison and in case people were wondering how the 06's were dynoing with bolt ons. My mods are listed in my Sig below. MREV plus kit includes a 5/16th spacer and a Machined lower collector (plenum) Motordyne makes the kit for the Rev-up engines. The car is un-tuned. Never had a reflash. Stock header, internals untouched.
Here is a Vid of me (camera car) and my bro who has the same mods as me just about. We pulled the exact same numbers on the dyno. He has an 06 also. Enjoy

Jst to clear the numbers up I also put down 271.8 rwhp and 250.5 rwtq.. these numbers are not SAE corrected.. So im figuring 8-10 less hp with corrected numbers, which is still impressive. The 287s arent seeing these numbers without a crank pulley, reflash, or utec, which we do not have. As someone else said though, numbers mean dick.. It's all about track times. =)
The dyno vids should be up soon, special thanks to Bert (BIG DAWG STATUS)!

Too bad the 06s are almost 200lbs porkier than previous models....looks like the best combo for power/weight with simple bolt-ons is the 05 anniv. and track models with the 300hp motor.

What gear did you dyno in and what kind of dyno?
By the way that was a sweet vid.

I've seen a lot of stock revup engines dynod on the same dynapack machine and the numbers have always been within +/- 2 HP of eachother. 269, 272, 270, 271, ect, ect. I've seen enough to be confident that just about all of the REVUP engines will be the same no matter where they are.
And your MREV+ and HKS exhaust is geometrically the same as everyone elses so your HP results will be the same as everyone elses.
The BIG variable driving your numbers is the dyno machine. Run it on a Dynapack or Mustang dyno and you will have three completely different numbers. Run your car on three different Dynajets and you will still have three completely different numbers.
The important thing is you got your Z dynod when it was fully stock. And you have modified and redynod with each succesive mod and measured good gains. ...Your cumulative gains are excellent. Its a much healthier Z now.
