Default Need a COLOR opinion plz help...

Ok i ordered my Z in Silverstone since that is what i fell in love with . I also like the black. However I am at the point where I can't really wait for my car much longer.

The Z I ordered will be my daily driver but my order doesn't get delivered till march. The dealer called me and he has an Enthusias which is fine. But its in sunset. I am partial to it. Should I keep waiting? Or pick up this sunset?

What do you all think of that color choice? I guess I feel I will draw more attention in the sunset then in the silverstone. Or am I in the wrong here.

Sunset looks good, and I'm not saying that since I love the Texas Longhorns!

Go with your heart on it, I personally am a particular person which is why I ordered what I did instead of trying to find a something similar (either different color, options, etc.). If you like the sunset and can live with it, buy it, if not, wait for what you ordered.

I had the same problem. I pre-ordered a Silverstone and when I saw Daytona Blue up close, I felt like I had made the wrong choice.

I thought the same thing, that the blue would get much more attention. But when I saw my Silverstone, all those thoughts disappeared completely. This is a wonderful looking color. It's classy and it looks good in sunlight and in the early evening.

The car is what gets the attention, not the color. Also, I feel like Silverstone will age a lot better than some of the other colors.

I say go with your first choice, you won't regret it.

Default Color choice is a personal choice.

As the great Richard Feynman once said... " What do YOU care what OTHER people think."

Seriously, I am not flaming you, but color choice is purely a personal preference shaped by past experiences and associations of ideas with particular colors. A brittish car fan may wish the 350Z came in Brittish Racing green with a tan leather interior. If he grew up liking porches the same guy might prefer bright red with black leather.

If you like the color then it is a good color. Really none of the colors available are ugly in my opinion.

Also, if you are "comprimising" with the dealer for a car that is "in stock" you might also be able to get a few $$$ off the price. Every car sitting on the lot costs them money every month in financing. Just a thought.

What ever you decide you will be happy. I have had this same anxiety over cars in the past, and in a few months you will love whatever you pick. You can't loose.

Got to go with the color you like. Personally, I like the Sunset alot & would choose it over the silvers.

I personally don't like sunset, but it probably does get more attention. I would advise you not to settle for a color you just like, though. You are probably best off with your first instinct, unless seeing sunset in person really made you sure you wanted it.

I had no doubt in my mind that if I was going to get a Z, it was going to be Daytona Blue. None. I could have liked black, or redline, but I would have never been as happy as with DB.

I've seen more sunsets in my area than any other (or, perhaps I just see the *same* sunet ).

I went to my dealer to order a chrome silver or silverstone until he showed me a daytona blue that had just been detailed. Daytona blue looks SOOOOOOOOO much better in person, imo. I put down an order on a daytona blue and refused ALL opportunities to take early deliver of any other color

That said, I'd stick with your first color choice. I could negotiate on a few options, but I think if I acquiesced in favor of another color to take early delivery that I'd be dissapointed in the end.

Enjoy your car!

The Z draws attention anyway, but Sunset REALLY draws attention. The color makes it stand out, and it's almost funny to watch people get whiplash as you drive by. However, this draws both good and bad attention, and you really should get what you like. If loud colors don't appeal to you, wait for your silverstone. The wait is tricky, but worth it in the end.

Myself, I'm partial to Sunset...

Get a color because you like it, not because it says "look at me".

Thanks for the help. As soon as I find out what exactly is happening with the 3k price hike I am gonna decide what to do.

I will be seeing the car this week. Watch me fall in love with the sunset color.

It's an awesome color. Tell the dealer you'll sucrifice your choise for 500 under MSRP, and get it!

There is no $3,000 price increase. It is a dealer BS story.

Decide now

Yeah, go with the car you really want. I know waiting sucks, but you should be really happy with it. If you still can't decide, go to a dealer that has more colors in stock or go to a meet so you can see them in person - pictures are good, but in person gives you such a better feeling for the car.

And definitely, although for me, I like the sunset the best, I have yet to see it in a color that was not appealing. Nissan did a great job with the colors and whether to make it metallic or not.

grayfox: I have seen all the colors but the sunset & white. and I personally like them all. But the red, dblue, LMsunset get more attention.

I personally love the blue. But I thought the silverstone is a little more quiter in that sense.
