I too have had both type of headlights and honestly don't notice a difference in terms of looks.

Just so you know.... That is not bubble wrap (i am sure you know this too) It is actually a clear dimpled lens THAT CAN BE REMOVED. I don't know if anyone else knows that are not, that its just an insert. The guts of the lights really don't mean a whole lot from a cosmetic vantage point, i mean they still have the same shape as the earlier models. I think the fact that they are completley cleared out, have sweet LED's in them and are more functional then the others make them one bad *** set of lights. Man, they are so bright and the cut off is amazing, true all-projector headlights rock.

I dislike them, I've never been driving and thought, man I wish my headlights were brighter. I don't see why they coudn't have kept a similar design when they changed them. Really messes up the "eyes" of the z imo.
yea, i would've loved a true projector setup, but the position of the projector is just too strange for me to like th 06 lamps. As some have mentioned before, I love the function of the 06 lamps, but hate the look.
If they wanted true projectors, they should've redesigned the entire headlamp from stratch. I think if the projector was on a different spot, and not accentuated like it is in the 06, it would look ALOT better.

It may be impossible to relocate the lamp in the light. If they had to redesign the light and therefore the location of mounts points may have to change, therefore creating more die's and molds to be made. I imagine they do "redesign' type changes when the entire car is different. They got to use present manufacturing processes and equipment.
