It seems like the tire feathering problem is more prevalent than the tranny issue. Am I correct?

Im sure if I buy from an elderly person who likely did not abuse the car, the tranny should be fine.
Take the VIN number to the dealer and have them run it before you buy the car. The was a dad of a Z owner that was selling his sons car. The new owner went to the dealership of warantee repair and was told the drivetrain warantee was void cause it had a aftermarket clutch in it that caused damage to the transmission. Exactly what the new owner was complaining about. Doh !!! Sold as is. Hard to take someone to court over that.

Actually, same thing has happened to me on my Firebird. It's warantee was voided because it was raced at the track and had all sorts of suspension and motor mods. However, they would still take car of anything else that went wrong. Unfortunately, the only other thing that went wrong was a little spring the holds the center console up when open. Wow $4.95 part. Lol !!!

Hey if you play, you pay. So, enjoy, break stuff and then fix it yourself. There is a lot of pleasure in doing that. Just know racers break stuff cause your trying to find the limits. It's the weakest link theory most times.
You should have seen the input shaft I bent. Now it has a forged input shaft.

even dealers are charging insane amounts of money for 03's. Whats up with people overpricing their cars?

If I buy private, which I most likely will, can I still buy an extended warranty from a dealer or 3rd party?

here guys...

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=36

I figured I might as well give it a shot since its an 04.5 enthusiast. I called em up and they are asking in the mid 20s. Since its in CT and Im in NYC I dont want to make a trip down there unnecessarily, so the sales rep said the manager will give me a call sometime today to hear my offer. Would should I offer them? 22 otd? or less? thanks guys

Dude, i bought an 03 CS Z touring w/18,000 mi and the only problem im having is i get pissed on days when i cant drive it...lol...seriously tho, my drivers side window only rolls down when it feels like it, but other than that no apparent issues so far. and even if i do, i wont care, i drive a 350Z at the end of the day.

Just get a girlfriend who weighs 200 lbs more than your current one, and it'll feel like you're driving an 06. lol.
