Exclamation Almost traded in my 03' Z for a 03' G !

Guys, I came so close to trading my 03' SS Z touring edition in for a used blue 03' G35 coupe that was fully loaded. There was nothing else you can add to this car it had Nav, Brembo brakes and it also had xm radio. The only thing I had to do was put my name on some papers because all the figures were ran up. The figures was close to what I would pay but I was hard balling them just like they were hard balling me. They were willing to give me 21 for my car which had 36k on it and I was willing to leave everything on it except for the racing hart cx-r rims. They were willing to give me the G for 28,500 that had 31k on it. So guys me passing up on this offer was a good or bad idea? All opinions are welcome !!!

the car is probably worth less if you look on kbb.com
however, there arent many of them on the road- esp the caribbean blue, so value becomes relative.

why are you looking at getting a G if i may ask?

There's so many things you have left out for everyone... well, for me to give you an opinion other then my bias choice.

-Do you need the 2 seats in the back now?
-Do you want a heavier car?
-Do you like the looks of the G35c more then the 350Z now?
-Do you like the Interior of the G35c more?

Or maybe I got it all wrong and you just wanted opinions on if it was a good price or a bad price to walk away from.

i think only you can tell yourself if you missed out. if you like the g better, then you messed up. if you like the z better, then you were saved.

The reason I was looking at the G is because it has more convience as far as in mention above about it having back seats and on top of that a trunk. I was looking for something close to performance as the Z as in straight line performance. In this trade I would of gave up a little performance for convience. So what you think now, Bad or Good Choice ?

if you really need the back seats, then i would say bad. you can always make the g perform better but you can never add more seats to the z

if you are looking for 2+2, then get the G
if not the Z is the best choice!!

21k on your trade seems pretty fair but 28.5k for the G? i don't know....you could take that 7.5k and do alot of fun stuff to your Z.

+1

If you really need the back seats, then the extra $$ would be well spent.

Otherwise, you've got to compare the Z with another $7.5k in mods to the G. IMO, the Z wins easily.

I sold my '03 350Z enthusiast and bought an '03 G35 6MT coupe (11,000miles) with everything but Nav for 29,300 about 18 months ago. They want too much for the G now I think.

I agree with Hraes... especially with 31K on it!

Thanks guys for all the different perspectives. To be honest I'm starting to feel like I made the right decision the more and more I think about it. Since I'm going to undoubtly keep my Z now, I've decided on my next mod and it's going to be a Plenum spacer.

I paid $23k six months ago for my 04' G without nav and brembo but added an aftermarket Nav/CD/DVD/MP3/HD and Bigger brakes and was still below $28 so IMO they wanted too much for that G.

The only right decision is what you really want. The G is a more practicle car due to the back seat and trunk. The Z is what it is! Choices are- Sports Car or a luxury sport coupe;you can't go wrong either way. That's why I bought the both!!

ps: It is strange how the G retains a lot more value than the Z. You would come out better getting someone with a employee dicount and trade for a new one. VPP price should be around 29-30k for a 6MT

that seems like a decent trade in price for your Z, but not a very good purchase price on the G. I think you made the right decision.

Default G v Z

They wanted too much for a loaded 2003 G35 with 31k miles. You made a good choice. Stick with what you got unless you see a really good deal.
