Highbeam Healight Noise
Ok, I know this may seem like a "No Brainer" to most of you but I have had my 06' Z Touring for about 2-3 weeks now and just recently had to turn on the Highbeams. When I click from low to high beam there is a very audible clicking noise from the headlight area. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal? Any help would be appreciated.

The '06 headlight are bi-focal HID.
It's one light bulb that moves up and down (or a mirror or what ever) that changes where your beam is aimed. An electric actuator does that. So it can make noise.
If it's really noisy, your dealer will fix/replace it with pleasure I'm sure.

How are you guys listening for this? Do you put your head by the light and have someone flick the high beams on and off? I mean, I don't hear anything but I am inside my car when I turn my high beams on.

Seriously, It would be nice to see a picture of the light distribution on a '06 Z.
Is it good? The previous years, like my '05, the high beams are added to the low beam HID. It make a LOT of illumination!
Thanks to all for your replies. The noise is very loud and noticable in and out of the car so I think I will make an appointment with the dealer to have it checked out..

Yes my high beams make noise too, but it isn't something that worries me.
The lighting is really really good on the 06, compared to the 05.

You're a little off there, buddy. The Bi-Xenon projectors dont have 2 bulbs, that'd be ridiculous. Inside every projector, there is a shield, that's what create the cutoff, by blocking unwanted light with a shield. Now in a bi-xenon projector, when you turn on your highs, the shield flips inside of the projector allowing out the full light of the projector. What you hear, is the solenoid flipping the shield.

Ok, bixenon means it has 2 lights in 1 unit but still has 1 filament. If that makes any sense.

1 Bulb, 1 Projector, 1 Solenoid, 1 Shield.
