Default 350z Sunroof/moonroof

I have seen a few pics of modified roofs to fit the 350z coupes. Does anyone here have any type of sunroof/moonroof in thier Z. If so post some pics and tell me what you think?

There are a few Z's on this board with sunroofs. There has been a great deal of discussion on whether or not it ruins the structural integrity/lines of the Z. If you do a search you would come up with a whole bunch of info. Maybe some sunroof owners will chime in as well.

Default Sunroofs IMO

Sunroofs don't belong in a Z. There's simply no room for it. But if that's what you would like, go for it. I just think it would be tacky. But again, just one man's opinion.

If you want to see the sun/moon when you drive or feel the cool breeze over your head you should've gotten the Roadster. Just doesn't look right on other models. IMHO

The Z's roof is just too small for a moonroof and I think it looks somewhat goofy. Somebody has/had one...it's a PPW Z with iForged Aero's i believe (just forget his name)

I have seen it on a couple of Zs. It does not look bad at all and a does not cost a whole lot. I am not sure how functional it is.

Just something to leak down the road. I have a sunroof/leather in the Pathfinder. However, it was the only way to get the auto locking center diff and auto sensing 4WD. Great for wet roads and rocky trails. It also gives you more room in the cabin.

I'm OK with the ones I have seen in the Z's. However, it's just not for me.

Structurally speaking. It should be OK.

I mean the G's get them and they have a larger span across the roof. JMO

After market sunroofs are a big NOGO IMO.

Knowing how many stiffening members are added to the design of a car with sun roof, I would not risk ruining the integrity of the unibody with a huge hole in there.

I wouldn't want to get leaked on from rain in a few years either. I had an 88 Integra and the factory sunroof used to leak on my head and absolutely dump water on the passenger(had some REALLY embarrassing dates To me it would just be too much risk/possibility for leakage.

ummmm the hole in the roof is made in sheetmetal that is barely 3mm thick

that sheetmetal doesnt provide structural support, and id be worried if thats all there is in the roof

there is a strengthening beam running across the roof connecting bw the a and b pillar, that remains with a sunroof install

if Hollandia made a sunroof for the Z id be in, afterall Hollandia are oem suppliers for most euro cars

I'll admit I don't know exactly how the sunroof goes on the Z.

But as a body designer, I can tell you that plenty of additionnal stiffening is required to add a sunroof to a unibody. The skin on the Z is probably closser to .65mm thick. I've never seen 3mm sheet metal on a passenger car.

If you remember, the Z32 Twin Turbos came standard with T-Tops.............why can't the Z33? I loved taking off the top of my 1990 Z32 and cruising down the road. Nissan should have incorporated a targa or T-Top into the Z33.
