E-4 in the Air Force. I really don't pay attention to the haters. All the young Airman at my job all drive cars that are 2002 and up. One side of the dorms used to look like a car show. I guess its the small bit of COLAwe get in Hawaii that makes us youngings get the new cars.

USN HM 350Z - E-1 over 9 years. That the F did you do or didn't do?

It happened again this morning
I always park infront of my door at work. So a GySgt came in and was like "who's the Officer in charge here?" So I was like, there is no officer. I work alone. And he's like "so who's car is that?" It's mine! And he's like you can't be serious Sgt.

Then he started telling me about back in his day he couldn't afford it...

I am in the Army. Currently sitting in Iraq right now. I run patrols through Baghdad four nights a week. I have not drove my Z for 8 months now. Just sitting in the garage all covered up, rotting away. It's very pissed off at me probably. Anyway, 5 more months and its non-stop driving for a month.

Nroman - What's your address? I'll go take it for a drive for you and let you know how it's running.

E-5 in the Coast Guard, bought mine as an E-4, everyone on base thought some snotty officer (no offense to any here) came onboard. Cracks me up when we get new gate guards cuz they look at it like "damn" then they are like how could he afford that as an E-5. When I get the questions I just say, its because of that car that I dont have money, that usually shuts them up.

E-3 in the Air Force. I had a car that cost the exact same monthly payment before I even came in the military. That car just got traded for the Z and is quite an upgrade!

But man I can't wait to get the hell out... I hate PT ! :P

Army SGT here... I guess it all depends on where you're at. I don't catch any **** for it here (Fort Belvoir) but if I leave out the NoVA area I'll get all the typical comments that everyone's already posted. I bet that if I was still at Ft. Riley (KS) I would catch hell every day.

Military bases are full of very nice vehicles these days. When I have family visiting me, they can't get over how different reality is from their assumption of how well off (financially) military people are.
