Military Z Owners
Why does everybody thinks because I'm a Marine and drives a Z I'm suppose to be rich?
I know we don't make that much but I can still afford this! I be having comments like...
How much was that?
You must be pimping ha?
You got a sugar mama somewhere?
Daddy must be rich ha?
You gotta be single too ha?
Ever had any hating comments like that?

heh a Marine in Da' Hood
just tell them that like most enlisted in the military, everything else is paid for or provided by the Govt.
so your free to spend you money on things you like/want. can turn it into a recruiting opportunity !!! hehe
"rent", food, benifits, COLA (overseas), uniforms,
one thing i noticed is how they always stick military bases in the middle of crappy/ secluded cities lol
one thing to say Germany and Z = Love!! heheh

I feel your pain i come through the gate and i hear similar things, i had a airforce guy say to me once " I guess i gotta join the Navy to get a car like that" Ha Ha Ha. Ive saved my pennies for years and driven hoopties and invested in realestate property. Also i paid 28,700 out the door for my Z, people think a Z will run you in the upper 30's or 40's. Take the comments with modesty, and just let them Hate.
people usually ask me how i can afford a car like the Z, i just tell them my mom purchased the car for me, and she also pays for the insurance, oil changes and my rent/college tuition.
it pisses them off.

I was stationed at Ft. Bliss (El Paso, TX) about a year ago and had the Z. I was 22 and everyone thought I was a rich kid or something. I was an E-5, single, living off post it was great. My NCOIC lived vicarious through me. lol.
The roads over there were off the chain. Mountain roads, twisties, downtown types, and the best open expressway ever. Plus I went racing once a month in New Mexico. I loved every minute of it.

navy here, owned two gen 2 lightnings in the past 2 years. allready started demoding my 2003 though and want to trade it in on a new car. still cant make up my mind though. been looking at a 2002 E46 M3, 2005 350Z and a 2002 S4. hardest thing is to find the color that i want so i can trade in my truck. no one wanted to buy it modded so i said screw it and sold all my mods includeing the engine and now am ready to find the right car. no one really hated on me cause they were uneducated about the lightning and thought it was just another ford truck.
