I got my G used with ~38k on it. I did grind second about 15 times until I got comfortable driving the car but now I don't have any problems. I thought about taking it in but I was worried that there would be other problems created from replacing the transmission.

Shoud I try to get a new one?

i will be hitting 50K during my next oil change (currently 47K) and i'm still on my original transmission...gotta say i lucked out in this catagory (i've had brake issues, axle clicks, interior rattles, window clicks/grease streaks, etc, etc...but i still LOVE my Z).
I think this survey is a little skewed now that some people with original clutches/transmissions are clicking "1" becoz there is no "0"....

Once at 17K. I am at 30k and the transmission feels like sheit 1st-3rd. Unless its really warm out and I granny shift it, it does horrible. I am taking it in next week to be looked at.

Well, I've got about 18k left before my warranties up. Mine has been fine for the longest time, but just recently I've had a problem with 5th. It's cold, but this didn't occur last year. During "spirited" sprints from a dig, I've ground 2nd a few times, as if I was locked out of the gate, even though the clutch was in... Lost a race or two... LOL! Seems like bad syncros to me

What to do...? I've been pondering a M tranny/diff oil change this spring and was considering using RP or Redline, but now I'm not sure if that's a smart move. Nissan may say BLA, BLA, BLAHHHHH, sorry sir. And I'll say listen you MFs, the API certified oil is not the problem and you know it! I just don't want it to go down like that... :|

Any recommendations?

I changed to Redline fluids some time back. If it is very cold out then it is difficult to get it into gear but once it warms up everything is great. I have way less problems grinding second now. It seems to help.

I've noticed that 2nd gear grinds when the car is cold in the morning on my 06. If I wind out 1st a little more doesn't do it.
