Intakes don't add a deep sound...exhausts do that. Intakes usually add a sucking sound while accelerating and (slightly) increase the volume of the engine at higher RPMs.

The Nismo sounds way better than the JWT but it's also more than twice as much. Since neither really give you any HP you might as well go with the JWT like 90% of the people here. If we all have it, it must be decent right?

I just got my '06 a week ago and I think my first mod will be a new sound system. I am waiting for the new Alpine HU's to come out at the end of this month so I can get the one I want with their Biolite display (i.e. won't wash out in the sun like all their earlier units). Plus it is steering wheel control compatible...w00t.

I came from owning a mazda6, so I don't need to add any more sound or power at the moment. My theory is that if I get used to the sound and power of a new intake and/or exhaust right from the start, where do I go from there? Also, I don't plan on turbo or super charging. I'd rather wait a little bit, but in the meantime the stock sound system suuuuuuuuuucks!

Been driving my enthusiast for almost a month. Put in the nismo radiator the first week. Really liked the Nismo embelm under my hood so got the CAI. Pretty easy to install too. Made the car sound better and accelerate quicker at the top end. Plus with all the rain lately it is nice to know that it has the bypass so your engine doesn't hydrolock. Going to put on tinted side reflectors, and maybe tint the windows this weekend. After that probably an exhaust system. Does anyone recomend any daul exhaust systems? I just like the look of the dual. I like the Greddy center mount too, but you have to get thier rear valence for it to work.

If you want to look at a bunch of mods available, check out www.mynismo.com

they have plenum spacers, JWT popcharger, clutches, exhausts, cams, turbo kits, wheels, whatever the hell you want.

THEN read up on the engine/drivetrain/forced induction forums...

then if you still have questions, use the search feature.

If you can't answer your questions by searching, try posting there. The main 350Z forum is mostly for newbs and spam

Thanks for all the helpful advice you guys, i know the pop charger doesn't make a deep sound like an exhaust. I just mean which one has a deeper tone when you step on it. like the injen cai i had on the maxima makes a whimpy sucking noise compared to the stillen under the hood intake. thanks for all the input. i will be getting the JWT.

as for the s2000 antenna? did you guys get it from ebay? how much did you pay? same for the tint. how much does it run for a good tint on the 350Z, like a platinum one? how much did you pay?

THANKS everybody, especially for the link to the motordyne site.

Skunk2 Intake Plenum Spacer
Applications: 350Z, G35, FX35
This spacer fits in between your stock upper and lower intake plenums on the engine, creating more intake air volume, and cooler intake air temperatures. This spacer is different than other spacers available. This spacer is made from a special carbon composite material which helps with the standard heat soak issues common in metal intake manifolds.
Create power by lowering intake temps. and creating more intake volume with this newly designed spacer.

I think the first mod should be the DRIVER mod. Learn how to drive the car before you start modding. It will handle and respond a lot differently than your Maxima. Then later when you get the feel for it, then start adding some performance mods. You will appreciate them more. Since your in SoCal, do some track events...Streets of Willow is the closest. It will be well worth it! Just my 2.

I have had my 06 revup since NOV. First mod you should do is the MREV plus kit from motordyne. It is a waste to just do a Plenum spacer on the REVUP motor. The 06 MTs lack torque, which is gained considerably by the Machined lower collector that comes in the MREV plus kit. It also comes with a copper throttle body spacer and the 5/16th spacer and gaskets. This mod IS the best bang for the buck, you will gain more power with this mod and spend less money than i/h/e. Minimum is like 15 rwhp and 18ft pounds TQ.

Give Tony a shout down at Motordyne, the MREVplus kit is a must have for the REVUP motor.

Most of the people on this forum do a front end conversion to a BMW 3 series.
