Default Need help on extended warranty info

Hey all, just got a 2003 Z and the 3 year warranty runs out in about 6 days. The dealer I bought it from, at a benz dealership, said i could get an extended warranty on nissan's site by typing in the vin number and selecting the plan i want and seeing the different prices. I see the dozen or so different plans they have but no prices and no instructions on how to purchase one. If anyone could show me where it is if i am missing it, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I think you're need to call the nissan dealership for pricing if it's the packages nissan is offering.

You still have the Powertrain warranty (5 years/60,000 mi) as well as the Emission/Corrosion warranty. Extending the 3yr/36k basic coverage will allow you to get defects repaired under warranty with only a $50 ded. Do you think your car has and defects issues?

No warranty is going to cover the clutch, that is a ware item. Rocking your clutch like that will most def ware it down faster! As long as the clutch is not slipping and enguages your fine, no need to check it out.

Here is a link you the 2003 warranty info

In my experience ext warranty are bullsh!t, and I wouldn't bother getting one ever again!

Oh, that burnt smell is your clutch from rocking it like you did. Try to avoid that if you can I suggest...

I think they offer it without the deductible too but its more expensive, not sure though. I paid $1,000 for a 6yr 75,000 mile warranty, w/ 50 deductible. I put on a lot of miles, so I figured 1 transmission replacement and the warranty would pay for itself. If you dont plan on keeping the car long its a waste of money.

Rocking the car back and forth on a hill like that is definitely going to make your clutch smell. That's "normal" if that's what you're asking and need not worth checking out. I just wouldn't practice like that in the future because you're going to wear out the clutch faster. Once you learn the clutch on the street and are comfortable with it, you should be able to navigate your Z on the hills too without a whole lot of practice on it.

I have the Gold warranty from nissan on my 03. Basically I get an extra year of powertrain protection out of it. I think it was $1k. Worth it? I don't know yet, but in many cases its not. However my 03 is on it's 3rd tranny so it may work out that I have to use the extended.
