As you may know from another post I just got my 350z, i know it needs high test gas....93 is preferred i assume, but how is 89 in our cars?

also, what weight oil should be used? synthetic? im gonna go get the manual outta my car in a minute but i thought id ask on here first incase i couldnt find it

 

if i were u, i wouldnt put anything lower tha 91 octane, anything lower could result in bigger engine knock. as far as oil i use synthetic mobil one 5w30. you might want 10w30 since your east coast weather conditions. but im going to be switching to royal purple next oil change.

 

I switched to Royal Purple and K&N oil filter the first chance I got... I think it helps a bit, you may notice a difference, not to mention it is a superior synthetic. See this thread here:

The minimum octane is stated in the owners manual: 91. Also follow the oil recommendations in the owners manual.
