Yes, it is true. The swirl mark you see has not touched the paint yet. It is on the clear coat which is a transparent thin layer of coating they put on after the paint. You can Buff it out, go to the detailing forum and look around. Or you can bring it to a detailing shop. They have electrical buffers so it's easy for them.

Do any of you know if this is true or will I have to get the entire hood repainted?

Actaully my swirls marks appeared when my car was waxed with a buffer. It look horrible. I am going to take it to the body shop to have the first layer of clear coat sanded.

That's why I take major jobs to the detailer. I can hold them on account of any damages. A lot of things could have given you the swirl marks after you or someone else buffed it. Could be dirt on your buffer, you have to make sure it is as clean as possible. Could be that the area of the car was not fully clean and washed and had some dirt and then when buffed looked worse. You could have used too strong of a solution. There are many things that can be done wrongly.

I don't know what your situation was, I am just giving examples of what could go wrong. I'm not accusing you of anything.

When I want my car "cut" or buffed all over, I take it to a detail shop. They are accountable.

prepare to have at least 4K. New set of wheel and bodykit + painting is not cheap.

4K? Try more like 12-13K for bodykit, rims, and paint.

12-13K for bodykit, rims, and paint??? I just purchased a set of 19' AXIS Matrix wheels w/ Nitto 550's for $2,400...INGS+1 replica body kit fro less than 1K and will get it painted for another 1k. I'm talking less than $4,500 for the whole set-up. If you check the internet you can get competitive prices for your wheels/tires & body kit. Like everything else the sky's the limit on what you can spend. It's your money so it's your job to make informed money decisions. BTW I went through the same thing as far as color is concerned. I bought an UY enthusiast and everyone had something to say. Alot of my friends and family said I should have gotten a different color, like black or red. I got to the point that I started to wish I HAD gotten another co;or. But I made up my mind that I liked the color and that's all that matters. I got UY for two reasons; a tribute to a dead friend who had a 1990 TT 300ZX ( another friend was driving and flipped the car killing my buddy), and because it makes the Z look moe exotic. Just be confident that YOU LIKE THE COLOR OF YOUR Z. Good luck !!!!

This is very much true. A good polish will fill in the swirl marks like a champ. Other options are wet sanding and that infomercial scratch removal cream from target. It is like GS27 or sumething. I used it on my truck a while back and it worked great. http://www.asseenontv.com/prod-pages/gs27.htm

It's from the Razo kit. The car has the Razo body kit, hence the huge Razo name on the side.

It looks nice and I really like that wing, unfortunately who ever installed that kit did a crappy job. LOL who woulda thunk it was a Razo, it doesnt even have it in neon lights, just huge freaking letters.
