03 tranny 3rd gear grind replace for New 06 wut u think?
i was at the dealer today! it was my 3rd gear grind..so they are replacing me with a Brand new Tranny, clutch, and pressure plate! WOoOHOoO they said they are going to put a 06 tranny..or a NEW tranny at least! I cant wait to test it out..he said it should be in about early next week on Monday or Tuesday! i never driven a 06 tranny is it really that great!? has anyone change there tranny from 03 to a 06? because i was just on the other thread they are all talkin about how smooth the tranny is on a 06 and blah blah...i was thinkin let me to the math : RAW HP on a 03 + a 06 tranny = HOLY ****!
speed?
speed?
I had my tranny recalled and they did the same thing: Pressure plate, clutch, 06 model tranny.
It shifted so smoothly afterwards. My 03 tranny started to grind around 15k miles.
I had it replaced at 20k and drive it until 35k without any problems.

check your Service Invoice when it gets done and make sure the part # ends with 009. That's the newest tranny. Make sure they give you what they told you they're giving you. I have gone through an 007 and am on my second 008 tranny right now

I had my 04 trans changed to the 06, the 009 tranny. It's nice, i didn't notice too much difference to be totally honest. It's nice that Nissan does take care of these issues though, and you'll be happier with a new, and working trans! We do quite a few of them here ourselves.
Even though you're getting a new OEM clutch etc..., now is the time to upgrade the clutch and flywheel if you've ever considered doing so, because the vast majority of the labor is being taken care of for you.
