You cut the ignition on your engine while it keeps running so raw unburned fuel runs into your exhaust. There it get's ignited by seperate spark plugs. That is not really dangerous, max it *might* blow your exhaust off your car.

Huge flames out of an exhaust are another story. If you're not carefull what's behind you... major screw-up !

You used to be able to do this with the old VW Golf GTI (Rabbit ?) (around 1975). You would turn off the key, let the car go for a few more meters and turn the key back on,. The fuel that drained in your exhaust would get ignited, the exhaust would go ***BOOM*** and flames would shoot out. My friend used to wake up his neighbourhood at 3 o'clock when he came home drunk this way. Until his exhaust blew off his car... LOL jacka$$...

Where I live down here street rods are a huge deal, most of em have this and it's not dangerous but it looks weird at slow speeds, it would'nt be bad if your slowing down from say a 100 mph run and ignited it.

for there to work you can't have cats, and I didn't think that these would work on DIS ignition systems since they usually just cut power to the coil for a second or two...

i don't really think you should be asking how dangerous this is, rather you should be asking "how ghey is this?"

All you need is over 700 rwhp and a 8,000rpm redline and you will see it every day thru your rear view mirror.....

not saying you're going to do it obviously, but wouldnt do it just because i think of the Z as a perf. car. Its not an old camaro or a honda prelude (which would fit, perfect for the trailer park), If someone did do it however, be ready to change your pipes cuz in a lot of states you get whats called "blue pipe" or "torch pipe." thats illegal in the ****ty state of washington...
