Default DIY Maintenance

For those of you that do some maintenance on your Z yourself, like change the oil; do you also take it to the dealer for the scheduled maintenance?
I have a 2005 Z with around 10,500 miles on it. I have been doing all the oil changes and haven't gone to the dealer for service yet. Would you recommend me taking it in per the service manual and just not have them change the oil?

just oil changes. I'll get a checkup around 40k

- check breaklines
- replace fuel filter
- maybe start using synthetic oil
- check the shocks, if I still have stock ones
- change or clean airfilter/cai

at 120k prolly will change a lot more if I still have the car.

dealer maint for the most part is a rip... Most of it is just visual inspections, if you can change fluids and do basic tune up work you will be fine.

That being said, it looks good for resale if you can provide dealer maintance records. You can do some this your self by keeping receipts for oil, filters ect. and keep a small note book with dates that you did your own maintance. If you do your own brakes keep the receipts for pads, fluids, turning rotors or replacement rotors. You can make notes that you bleed the fluid, checked suspension bushing ect...

+1. There is little point in paying someone to top-off fluids and check air pressure. When it comes time for, say, coolant replacement, you may want to have that done at a shop.
