C55 VS E55 VS 350z
I decided to do a write up on these cars. I drive these cars frequently and I think they're all amazing.
C55
A extremely fun car to drive. Has all the power you need... quite exciting to drive... I went up to 170mph on the highway (limiter deactivated) and I swear to God I felt like I was doing 100mph. The car is extremely stable. The ride is very comfortable, the suspension feels slightly stiffer than a normal C class, but its no wear near harsh.
Comparision with the 350z. Its defintely feels more powerful, but the Z is not that much behind in power. I dragged with the Z and it only started to pull ahead after 3rd gear and the pull ain't that strong either. The cornder ability goes to the Z hands down. I have the track version, I think it has a slight differently suspension setting than the normal Z. The Z corners much much better. Not nesscarily faster, but it feels much more planted and agile compared to the C55. The Z tends to understeer a bit even with 245 tires in the front but its no where near severe. I think slight understeer gives the driver more confidence through a corner and that's what I felt. I was able to push the car through fast sweepers with lots of confidence. The C55 understeers to but at a greater extent. In the Z, the understeer can be controlled by throttle positioning. Just back off the throttle and the understeer with go away. Where as in the C55. The understeer continues after you lift off the throttle.
Another thing about Mercs, what's up with the transmission. its so freaking slow!
E55
Ultimate straight road king. I never got beaten by any car on the road with that car (in a staright line). I went against Porshces to Evos to Civics... Everything... My E55 will just eat them up.
Truely great cruiser.
Sucks in the corner cause its so heavy. Well, considering its weight its actually not bad at all. I feel quite confident throught corners. Especially high speed corners. In this car, I know this sounds crazy, but it gives me the confidence to driver keep my foot planted while taking turns at 160mph. Obviously I am not talking about tight corners, but those long sweepers.... wow... it feels like you are drive 80 mph. No one'd know I am going 140mph until they actually look at the spedometer.
Something I wanted to say about Merc for a long time.
I have owned almost every single AMG on the market (except S55, SL55, SL65, SLR). All of them... EVERY SINGLE ON OF THEM... broke down the first week. Some wouldn't start and some had electrical problems... My SLK55 had something really wrong with it and the dealerhip had to exchage for a new one.
I thnik Mercs are great cars. I love em because they're so comfortable yet powerful. You can smoke almost any car on the street while listen to your favorite music... chilling on your leather seat...
Somehow, I still enjoy riding my Z. I feel like the Z is a true sports car. It gives me the feeling that I am actually driving something. In the Mercs, you feel so disconnected from the car. The Z rules.

those German Engines are sure fast.. I had a hard time with an E500.. not to mention AMGs.. but um.. had a lot of electronic problems with our mercedes too.. E500, S500.. but umm... obviously it has sooooooooo much high tech gadgets.. its bond to have more problems.. so I went to BMWs instead.. and never really turned back to Benz. However, the New S550 looks freakin awesome. much better than the 750Li IMO

The new S550 is sweet!!!! My brother has an E500 and wants the S550 but its a little out of his price range. Anybody else think that the new S class looks like a maybach. It looks alot better then the 7 series imo as well.

See my post in the street racing forum about the E55. I edged one out in a short run from a roll. I'd like to get another chance at running one off the line and from a roll. They are very quick and extremely nice cars. But, there are plenty of boosted z's on this site that wouldn't have any problems walking one.

S550 is very similar to the maybach.. It seems to be much bigger than the S500.

I went up against an Evolution on the hwy. We were head to head up to 140mph then I started to gain.
I had three occupants (including myself) and a full tank of gas. My girlfreind got kinda annoyed. She never believed that a Japanese car with a fart can could be keep up with an E55. I was amazed at how fast the Evo was too. I knew I was going to run up against some fast modified cars someday, it was fun.
