Daytona blue gas tank
Does anybody else with a DB Z notice that the gas tank cover is a different color?? My whole car is getting repainted right now as we speak, and i hope it fixes that problem, but has anyone else seen it??
I bought an 06 DB Z a month ago and have noticed that the gas cap is a different color and the top of the car is a different shade of blue. It's really noticeable in the sun. Is nissan repainting the car?
silly people... plastic and metal are going to have a different shade with the same paint... plus the angle that the paint is at on the roof is going to make it look lighter or darker depending on how you look at... because of the pearl in your paint it does this... i notice this on my PPW z as well.

I had mine painted to match better. Mine is a 2003, and the gas doors and rear bumpers are especially noticable. For some reason, the angles of the front bumper don't show the variance as much.
Yeah but I don't care
Freshly washed then placed outside on a nice sunny day the DB kind of looks mesmerizing anyway because of the pearl properties (is that in the paint or the clear coat by the way?) Most noticable on the gas cap. Probably why it is so difficult to touch up
Hope you can live better with it after you do something about it though. I am just happy there are no paint chips on my gas door (yet!)

The color on mine is a little off too. I always thought it was because it is made out of a differenet material than the rest of the car. It was probably painted in a batch rather than at the same time as the car. I think the OEM spoiler is painted separately too since it isn't installed until it gets to port here in the U.S. My spoiler matches fine, as do my splash guards.
I can see different shades but i think thats normal depending ont he angle.. however if you look at the inside of the Gas cap cover you can def tell there is a difference, but looks like just plain purple on the inside.
