Official Tire replacement papers?
Ok I called my local Nissan dealership today to see if i could schedule a warranty repair on my z for its tires because to the best of my knowledge it has the feathering issue. My car is still under the original warranty and all. The gentlemen i bought it from said he had the alignment recall done already to the car. Well I called the dealership to set up an appointment for the car specifically to check the tires and replace them if they are feathering. Now here is where I am confused on what nissan is officially covering with their warranty. The service manager told me that nissan is not replacing the tires they are only doing the alignment recall. I have searched tryign to find a specific answer and i cant all i can find are people trying to get reimbursed since they had their work done prior to this mistake being admitted by nissan. So i guess my question is did i just make it up or assume incorrectly that nissan is replacing the front tires on 2003 Z's when they feather? If they are replacing them where can i find the proper statement/paperwork from NNA to show this guy if i take my car there? Thanks for any info i know this issue is a dead horse but i just want a knowledgable answer before assuming the dealership is being stingy!
From page 1 side 2 of the warranty extention letter from NNA:
What the warranty extension covers:
Nissan is extending the warranty for front wheel alignment related to tire noise on your 2003 or 2004 350Z to 3 years from the original in-service date or Octover 31, 2005, whichever is later, and unlimited mileage. Like all NIssan New Vehicle Limited Warranty service, this extended warranty is only available through a Nissan dealership.
If your covered 350Z exhibits front tire roar or growl noise during the extended warranty period, Nissan will inspect your vehicle to determine the wheel, tire, and suspension equipment installed on the vehicle. Then:
1. For vehicles equiped with original equipment Bridgestone tires or replacement Bridgestone tires of the same size as the original equipment tires mounted on original quipment, genuine Nissan chrome, or NISMO accessory Z wheels, Nissan will:
Inspect the vehicle for porper alignment and align the vehicle as required, and
Replace the front tires as determined to be necessary by formal repair criteria subject to the pro-ration schedule described below:
Tire Tread Depth.......Customer Pays
...Greater than 4/32".......0%
between 3/32" to 4/32"....30%
between 2/32" to 3/32".....60%
...Less than 2/32"...........100%
2. For vehicles equiped with non-bridgestone replacement tires of the same size as the original equipment tires mounted on original equipment wheels (or with genuine Nissan chrome or NISMO accessory Z wheels), Nissan will:
Check the front wheel alignment and adjust, as needed.
3. For vehicles with replacement tires that are not the original size, or with wheels other than those listed above, or with suspension modifications other than NISMO-S Tune, this warranty extension is not applicable unless the wheel, tires and suspsension are first returned to original factory specifications and the vehicle then is presented to a NIssan dealer for repair prior to expiration of this extended warranty.
4. If you replaced your front tires due to tire roar or growl noise or an irregular wear pattern on the inside portion of the front tires prior tothe announcement of this extended warranty and incurred out-of-pocket expenses for which you have not previously been reimbursed, you may be eligible for reimbursement of those expenses from Nissan. Use the "Checklist For Reimbursement of Prior Front Tire Replacement" on th efollowing page to request reimbursement of any eligible out-of-pocket expenses you have incurred.
<I don't have page 2 b/c I sent it to NNA with copies of all my papers>

I just bought an '04 with about 6500 miles on it and have been noticing a roar especially while braking..
I took it to Shingle Springs Nissan on Monday and they had new tires and alignment done by 4:00 that day.
No charge..
The service writer showed me a bulletin from Nissan stating that any 03 or 04 car that had feathering issues would be covered but may have to pay a prorated cost if the tires were worn..
I would fight it if your dealership is giving you a hard time..
