Weird clicking sound coming from front left tire
This is the first time I ever post a message. Apologize if this has already been discussed elsewhere.
I have noticed lately that there is a "click" sound that comes out of the front left side of the car whenever I start backing up and sometimes when I brake hard. It just makes that click once and then everything is normal. I have not gotten under the car to try to see what it could be, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
In case it helps: my Z is a 2004 Touring Roadster with 14,000 miles on it.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Thanks for the quick help. I didn't think the sound would be coming from the rear, but I probably just need to pay more attention to it next time and take the car to the dealership to get it fixed.
I visit the forum a lot, but this is my first post.

get your alignment done. i was having this problem, took the car to work and had my alignment guy take car of the car. since them NO clunk/click. i think it has to do with the tension rods.

I know the noise your talking about and it is your axle most likely. I had mine changed around that amount of miles. But i had the dealer change both of my axles. The left axle was broke because of the torque that my supercharger was kicking out.

Thanks for the help guys. I will got with the dealer. They'll look at it next week. He says there are no TSB on it happening in the front, but it may be that the noise is coming from the rear and I just don't hear it right.
I do have a 6-Speed, but I am sure it doesn't have anything to do with the clutch, because it happens while I am not using the clutch. It most be the axle bearings you guys are talking about.

Just curious, does this sound like two spoons being slapped togther?
I've recently picked up a clacking sound, though it sounds like it's coming from the tranny. I can only hear it in first gear, usually if I'm at a dead stop going to a roll, and also from a slow roll in second shifting down into first gear.
