Definitely my fave corner on Gran Turismo 3 my fave track period! I hope I get to take it on in real life some day.

In case you wreck, they don't want plastic bits going all over the track and into other cars.

Or bikes as I have seen...

Safety inspection before you are allowed on.

That part of the hood is where you get virtually all rock chips on track. It also protects the headlights, especially the center part where it's most likely to break and keeps the plastic together if it does break.
