Default Royal Purple? MOBIL 1? MOTUL? WHY?

Hi everyone, I just changed my oil to MOBIL 1 at 950 miles and plan on using synthetic from now on. I put in all 5 quarts, do you guys usually put in all 5 quarts or have some left in the last quart. I tried to check with the dipstick, but its kind of inaccurate because its at a while angle, and when you pull it out, some of the oil slides off. Would putting in all 5 quarts just to be safe be a good idea, i fully drained it and changed the filter so would full 5 quarts be too much? some feedback would be helpful.

Also I saw royal purple which was more expensive than mobil 1, and MOTUL was the most expensive. which one do you use and WHY? I know royal purple promises more HP and TQ and MOTUL is for people who run their engines really hard or race, but why did you go with the brand you chose?

THANKS

Thank you and have a nice day.

I used strictly Mobil 1 on my WRX, but the oil consumption drove me crazy. After switching to Royal Purple I noticed much less burn through. I cannot say I felt a power difference, but the motor was smooth and I didn't have to add a quart every 1500 miles.

I use Royal Purple in the Engine, Tranny, and Diff. I also like Amsoil too and i've been known to use Mobil 1 on occassion. My car runs smoother and idles lower with Royal Purple.

someone please post a link to the mustang + dyno + royal purple video.

royal purple is what less then a $1 per quart then mobile 1? people get your head out our *** if your justifying not going with royal purple because it "whaaaaa!! it costs more!! whaaaa!!!" now if you honestly go with mobile 1 cause you think its better then rp or your just comfortable or you dont care about anything else, mobile 1 has been good to you, then more power to you. please see do not use the its costs more excuse, because your talking pennies folks!

I use Royal Purple 5w30 + Militec-1. You can feel the difference. For more information go to http://www.militec-1.com/ I change oil every 6000 miles and oil filter every 3000 miles. One Very important thing is to never overfill this causes foaming and prevents proper cooling and lubrication.

i only use MOBIL 1 synthetic oil. i work on jet engines and that is all we use!! if it is good enough for those engines, it's good enough for mine.

but seriously...it's all a matter of opinion. any brand of motor oil is going to give you good results...LUBRICATION!! pick one and you'll be fine.

Can someone show me any independent research showing that any brand of motor oil:

adds horsepower
makes the car idle more smooth
extends engine life.

Appreciated.
