Cheap Paint 06 Z
Does nissan use cheap paint or clear coat on the Z? Everytime I wash the car it seems to get new scratches. Anyone put the extar coating of clear that the dealer offers on the car from 3M? Thinking about getting, it any thoughts?

Have members paid the dealer a couple of hundred dollars for Super Shine, Word Class Luster or Lifetime Exterior Protection package? I'm sure they have. Some people love to throw money away.

first, learn how to clean and detail your car. make sure you use good quality microfiber towels to clean and dry your car. always make sure you have two buckets of water. one with soap and the other without soap for rinsing your cleaning towels as you wipe your car down. remember the less you touch your car, the better the chances you will not scratch it. i use and electric leaf blower to dry my car to about 95%. then i use microfiber towels to finish the job.

Seriously...use a leaf blower...it works pretty well. You may have a few water spots here and there that you have to polish/wax out but if you have a powerful leaf blower and water that's not too hard (full of minerals), then I think you'll be pleasantly suprised. You do get the crazy looks from the neighbors though.
If you don't have the money for a good leaf blower, try the California Water Blade...it's a silicone wiper that is very easy to keep clean of abrasive matter and works pretty darn awesome.
