You guys don't know how bad I felt when I got home after I did that insanely stupid turn.
That really speaks volumes about your character. The fact that you didn't just shrug it off, or laugh about it is really good to hear. In my opinion, it means that you truely care about the car and that there is definately some pride of ownership here.

You'll invariably experience more stuff like this in the future. It's just a matter of taking your mistakes seriously and taking the necessary measures to alter your driving style in order to avoid similiar mistakes in the future.

Good Luck!

I know exactly how you feel. The first week i had mine i was on my way to work. It was cold out, the ground was cold, my tires were cold, and i had just stepped out of 6 years of driving FWD cars. For 6 years i was accustomed to accelerating out of the turn, easing into the gas at the apex. So out of instinct i did the usual and naturally hitting the gas at teh apex was the stupidest thing to do with a car that has this much power. Needless to say i had goosed out the back end, and naturally turned against it. Unfortunately for me my natural FWD instincts told me to give it a little gas, and ended up oversteering back the other direction, and once again i was succesful in not spinning out my car. I nearly pulled into a third oversteer back teh way i had originally started to lose control but succesfully gained traction and straightened the car out. Of course all of this happened in a matter of seconds but they were several seconds of self-teaching i will remember for the rest of my life.

Since that day though, i am definitely not afraid to test my car and push my capabilities every chance i get. Usually i take it off the main roads and out into industrial zones late night on teh weekends, low cop risk, low potential for other vehicles, and its a real world environment, not like driving around a parkinglot that is basically only good for practicing oversteer corrections. For the past month and a half i have learned a great deal about my new Z and its capabilities. I know what speeds i need to kick out the back end and when to and NOT to break. Definitely dont EVER break when trying to correct oversteer, youll just end up puttin your car into a 180 spin or more, i found that out the hard way. No, wasnt an accident, but I learned to check the roads i would be pushing my car on before i actually push it. Now we jsut go for a test drive thru our "course" for the night to make sure everything is clean and dry.
