The "Slip" Light.....
Ok very dumb question but I must be 100% about it. I know this light turns on when you loose traction. But would it turn on if your clutch is slipping?
Reason I accelerated pretty fast. I know there was no wheel spin because i a) did not hear my wheels spinning, b) did not feel my car shake like it does when traction control fixes a slip. My car however did not accelerate as much and i was thinking maybe it was the clutch slipping?
Am i a dumbass or is it possible?

sometimes on slick roads, I'm not even talking wet or icy, just like old asphalt roads my car will do this as well. If the road is really slick you are actually spinning the tires or actually about to since the TCS is kicking in. There are a few roads around my work that i do this on all the time and it doesn't feel normal but i gauantee thats what is happening.

So you might spin only one wheel.

I actually had this question too. Today I took off in 1st pretty hard and it was either spinning or the clutch was slipping pretty bad. (I also have 406rwhp TT though on stock clutch/flywheel). Hopefully it's not the clutch kuz I just spent a bunch on other stuff yesterday!
I took off again in 1st gear at high boost and it kinda chirped and took off normal later on in the day...IF the clutch was slipping, it would constantly slip on hard acceleration right?

This is what i got from a drifter that we sponsor,"CHESTON"
Hey Rick-
Yea, even if you have the TCS or the VSC button turned to OFF, if you get sideways, the SLIP will still come on and try to limit the wheel spin... its the safety feature-
to turn it completely off, you have to unplug the ABS controller which is in the engine bay, next to your Master Cylinder for the brakes.. its this giant silver box, with small metal tubes going into it, there is a black wire with a grey clip, you have to unplug that. once you do that, you will get the SLIP and ABS light indicators in the cockpit, but you can go full drifting with that disabled.
THANKS
