Default Performance Nissan Website Status

Performance Nissan Website Status

In immediate response to your email discussions regarding our website server, I want to confirm the accuracy of the letters that we mailed out this week. We have posted further information on our temporary web page at the following address:

www.performancenissanparts.com

We are not presently aware of any unauthorized credit card charges that have been successful -- but some attempts were made and declined. Therefore, we want to be proactive in encouraging our web customers to contact their credit card company and request a different card. In-store purchases are not affected.

We take matters such as this very seriously regarding our customers and their security and immediately took action in reporting this to credit card companies, the FBI and other authorities. As part of a community of car guys and Internet users, we are all impacted by those bad elements who continually invent new ways to breach websites.

Our website was destroyed by this attack and we presently have a resource team of professionals and employees responding to this incident -- including building an entirely different website to address our requirements for the ultimate in security and customer convenience.

We deeply regret that this happened, apologize for any inconvenience that any of you, as our customers, may have experienced, and assure you that we are working diligently to resolve this matter. Those of you who know and trust us
(personally or professionally) understand our sincerity and know that we will always do the right thing – even in challenging circumstances.

Until our new website is operational, our phone order customers (using codeword CYBER ATTACK) will receive special discount pricing as an inducement to continue purchasing parts from us while our website is being reconstructed. Please call (866)211-7389 for further details, questions or orders.

Sincerely,

Jeff Hess, Parts Manager
Performance Nissan

What about check cashing cards?

The last thing I need now is for my checking account to be wiped out!

I went in today and did mine; they charged me a fee, but eh, better safe than sorry, right?

Look on ur check card. Is ur check card a VISA? If so, even if it gets wiped out, VISA will cover the fradulent charges and u are only liable to pay $15.

I'm pretty sure your hacking caused my account to get hit.

My credit card got hit for +$1600 in airline tickets in Germany on March 20th. The hacker called Chase and made some inquiries that caused Chase to write me. I called in, talked with security, canceled my card, and started a fraud investigation. That was the only charge they managed to get. What freaked me is that when I called Chase they said that I had called them the week before ... not! Somehow they social engineered the person at Chase or have my mother's (old) madien name. I gave her a new one last week.

Stuff happens.

To be on the safe side, I just changed my 2 AMEX numbers.

Fortunatelly no funny authorization attempts.

This seems to be a lesson learned for everybody.

This is exactly the reason why I use Virtual Credit Card numbers. M/C has a system where every transaction gets a virtual credit card number. You can set the upper limit on the card and how many transactions it is worth. I normally set all my cards to expire in 1 month, and the upper limit is exactly the purchase amount. This way I could care less if a Hacker actually gets my virtual credit card number.

Well went to my bank this morning. Checked over my account transactions from the past few months.... everything looks ok, except for this "chinese massage"

Reissued me a new check card...at $6.00

Oh well, from now on I will refuse to do any on-line shopping where I have to physically enter my credit info. If there isn't a number to talk to a PHYSICAL person, then no sale.

Crap is always going to happen. Online, phone, retail, whatever - they all have ways of being breached.

I applaud Performance Nissan for being proactive in letting everyone know about the issue immediately and not trying to hide it or sweep it under the rug.

Anyone bent about paying $6 to get a new card guess what - I'm pretty sure the transaction you had with performance nissan saved you alot more than that.

On a possitive note, my new card number ends with "007".

I guess this drama had a happy ending after all.

Proactive. BS. They should have emailed all of their customers first and then attempted to contact by phone. ASAP.
