Default How Close Do You Need to Get

Okay, I have owned my 350 for about a month now and is it just me or does everybody else on the road have to get as close to the car as possible going down the road.

I am driving to work this morning and this Miata crawls right up my a%%, now obviously I am not going to waste precious gas on a Miata and I know he did not want to race me because after he came around me he pressed over and it seemed like he wanted to see the interior. This is not the first time this has happened and for some reason I have become very annoyed with this..

Now I know that Z's are very impressive cars and I have no problem with anybody checking out the ride but damn, how about a little space on the road....

Is anybody else having this issue because it seems like everyone I drive around wants to jump in the hatch....

i hate when people stay like an inch behind you on a sltanted road. Since the car is stick i get maybe a little bit of rollback before i move and always feel like i may hit their bumper...

I tend to have problems with people attempting to see in from behind.

That's when I introduce them to my brake lights.

yup, I know the feeling. I always get the soccer mom that's in a big hurry behind me or some young chick that is in an even bigger hurry. Funny thing is, when they pass you it's obvious they are $hitty drivers because of all the bumper dings on their cars.

Thats funny, ive had my z for about 2 weeks and it seems like now everybody wants to try you. like riding the bumper, or revving on you so that they can get a reaction out of ya. its funny though, because when i had my honda, i never had any problems and i use to drive a little more aggressively. now with the z, i drive a lot more resposibly, but now everyone is a street racer. wierd

u think thats bad?
me and my friends were at a restaurant infront of my car
my friend told some hammered guy(30-40) with a few girls if he wanted to buy my car(as a joke)..."$40,000!"
he said "too expensive for me, haha",
then his g/f opens my car and looks inside smiling, my friend goes "hey this isnt an import show" lol

lol... this thread brings up a similar interesting story of my own. Except this guy must have been mostly stupid and jealous, rather than envious.

Just a few days ago I'm at a stop light behind a few cars. The light turns green and we all go. As I'm going through the intersection I notice some punk on a POS motorcycle waiting to turn. This moron was wearing shorts, no SHOES, no shirt, no helmet, but he had plenty of tatoos! He probably had no insurance as well. He turns right after I pass through, and not before long he's right on my ***. I'm thinking he's about to turn across traffic. Nope! He's going for the 3 car pass in a no passing zone!!

The part that irritated me was he was trying to be a smartass about it and see how close he could get to my car without actually hitting me, because after he passed me he decided to jump over a little further for the other cars. I don't think he even made it into the oncoming lane as he went by me. He couldnt have missed me by more than a few inches. I saw him in my mirror smiling ear to ear right as he started to pull this stunt. He was sure proud of himself for being such an idiot.

As luck would have it his bike broke down not even a mile down the road and he pulls off into a parking lot. So of course I followed him in and roll down my window to say: "DO YOU HAVE A DEATHWISH YOU FN PUNK" I could see the fear in his eyes. He knew he was screwed. His reply: "uhhhhhh" To which I responded "I didn't fn think so!!" I returned his favor and busted a 180 right in front of him.

Hopefully I did him a favor and he thinks twice before doing something like that again, because he will eventually end up as road kill, and I would hate for anyone to have to see that mess, much less clean it up.

Can you say, OWNED?!?!

I tend to agree...I went from a Titan to a Z...I've had my Z for 3 weeks and as much as I like the attention, I'm still getting used to not being the biggest on the road anymore...I've noticed a tail light flash tends to back people off, but I am feeling a little crowded on the streets too!

During my 35 minute Z test drive, a girl ahead of me on the highway kept staring at the Z in her mirror. Then she fell back, all the while checking out the Z's wheels and interior, then sped up again and kept pace, driving alongside and constantly looking over. It was as though as she had been driving blind for the past 3.5 years and never really saw a Z on the road before. I wasn't the least bit annoyed though. It was the best compliment any car can get.

The look on her face was priceless when I downshifted and punched the gas...

I've noticed a lot of irritating cr&p people are doing since I got my Z. Like riding my a$$, like they are in some damn big hurry to go around me. Being stopped at a red light and the person in front of me, taking their foot on and off the brake making their car bounce up and down like a low rider. People chaning lanes right in front of me on the freeway, so they can kick up as much gravel and chip my hood as possible. Also seems like more a -holes pull out in front of me from side streets too.

Just jealous A holes IMO.

On a different note I got pulled over for the first time in the Z last Saturday night by a motorcycle cop.

He let me go with a warning. He was irritated that I shifted from 1st to 2nd at 7G's

One of the first things he said, was, "have you ever been arrested"? As well as "do you even have a license?? I was kind of smiling and he said "do you think this is funny? and I said no. I was smiling because as soon as he said that crap, I knew he wasn't going to write me for exibition of speed cuz it would never stick in court and he knew it too.

stupid squid
