I'm new to this forum and about to purchase a used ZR.

What I need to know is the difference between the 2004.5 vs the 2005.

In addition, I need to know how to identify a 2004 vs 2004.5?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

 

Not sure of the differences between the 4.5 and '05.... There are probably some but none that I know of. The 4.5 will have knee pads on the center console and a second power outlet below the passenger side airbag and the '04 will not.

Yeah you can tell if it's a 04.5 by the VIN too... I can't remember the specifics but a quick forum search should yield the answer.

The knee pads are on the center console. They are right where your knee would be. They pad your knee from rubbing against the hard plastic of the center console. They are very obvious - you can't miss them.

The '04 and previous only had one power outlet and it was by the glovebox behind the seats. A real pain for anyone with a radar detector, so they added another one on the front by the cup holder. Gimmie a minute I'll see if I can come up with some pictures.
