next gen 350z or new GT-R
Yea, but look at what happened with the previous gen. I don't see Nissan making it anywhere near that..maybe 40k..MAYBE..but 58K? Nah.
And i'd take the Z. I don't dig more than 2 seats

with the GT-R as a nissan they wont crowd themselves. the next gen Z in my opinion will be a 330hp+(ish) V6 in the roughly in the mid to upper 30k's. maybe a sportier version in the mid 40k's (maybe).
these 2 cars are going to intentionally be staggered in the way that one wouldnt just stumble into your local nissan dealer and have to decide between the two. they have different targets.
when i thought the GT-R was going infiniti. i saw the 450Z making perfect sense. but now with the nissan news. i see a more evolutionary V6 Z rather than a revolutionary V8.
in two seperate interviews nissan officials commented the on the GT-R and new Z stating
the GT-R would be "911 S performance for around 911 price." and about the Z they stated the "cayman would be their target. "
if the new Z was priced like a cayman people would buy the cayman.
your going to have a 70k GT-R with 0-60 #'s like 3.8-4.0
so expect a mid to high 30K Z with a sub 5 second 0-60.
(im betting 4.8-4.9) that is still an improvement over the current model

I guess you can't really make a good comparison.. the price difference will be too drastic. People who will able to afford the skyline would be the same level as the porche, bmw and benz shoppers?
You're also making a comparison between two cars that haven't been released, one which is about 2-3 years from release, and another which is about a year/year and a half. Too much guesswork.

probably along with the 2008 G coupe or maybe the following year.
the GT-R is a 2009 model arriving in spring of 2008 so i think the arrival of the Z could be next fall with the G as a 2008 or following the GT-R as a 2009. im leaning toward it launching with the G coupe since it will share so much with it

Basically it takes over 2 years to design a new model thus Nissan is making choices right now regarding new Z's and Gt-R's.
