you'll be back dont worry
after having a toyotamr2, bmw328conv, bmw 330ci, within 4 years and getting bored I bought a 350z in 2002.. I had it for 18 months (plauged with problems, eg 4 tranny's, feathering creaks etc) and also because I thought that I need another family car because I had a 1-2-3 year old children.
I sold it
so I got rid of it for a 2003 honda accord, its now been 2 yrs with the honda, even thought the honda is flawless in terms of reliability, and is "sporty" I really miss the 350z and still check the 350z forums weekly.
So dont worry the money you save will accumulate in a 1-2 years will easily accrue to a point by which you can buy the same 350z in two years for probably 5K less.
Drove the new bmw 3 series, drove the lexus is250, rx8, brother has g35
sorry, but the z prevails in terms of overall value and "funfactor"
yes, the g35 is a fantatic car, but the z is raw power=fun
sacrifice now to get ahead later..
business will pick up dont worry....

my brother drives an element ex... as a matter of fact, we trade off sometimes... i hate the feeling that im going to tip over when i turn but other then that its not that bad. has many configurations on making space, moving seats back, to the side or just taking them out completely. maybe we'll swap an rsx type S head to make some real power.... u can make em look pretty sweet too, like this guys... don't know who he is personally but his is nice...

His statement is pretty valid though.
When I was 22 I didn't know many people my age who could purchase a 30k car + insurance without some sort of support or help from a relative.
If they did, they were either really lucky... or were fortunate enough to be put in a position to have money when they were alot younger. (usually rooting from the same support mentioned above)
It's safe to say the average 22 year old is just out of school/ military where 30k + insurance and upkeep is a large percentage of their income. Theres always exceptions though...
Congrats to you for being able to accomodate so much...so early...

Hey I think family first is a great decision. I'm planning to sell my Z in the next month or so because of similar situations. My mom just opened a new business and since she does help me pay for insurance I can no longer watch her suffer just to support the luxuries of my life. I'm also having trouble staying away from tickets. I figure at such a young age (19) I have my whole entire life to buy as many nice cars as I so desire (or can afford). But as of now, there's only a given amount of time you can help your family. You never know when they'll be gone. Good luck with everything.

Thanks angelzhope720, I feel your pain.
Moreorles, you know what good for you. I'm glad you have had the opportunity to do most what others can't. I'm sorry I'm not like you. I also go to school full time, and thats graduate school. My parents helped me out and I appreciate every penny of it. Oh by the way, I never said a 22 year old person can't afford the Z, I just said I couldn't. Thats why I made the decision that I did which I thought would be in the best interest of my family. I really don't see how you would take offense to my statement, I thought you would feel good to see the fact that you have accomplished what most can't.

Ouch!!! damn Ny sucks, I'm 24, have the Z entirely in my name and pay 86 a month thru Nationwide with full coverage....my whole family goes to this one agent so I get a break for that, but 9800 a year, thats more than twice what I pay for the Z itself
Way to man up and take one for the fam nismo, it'll pay off in the long run.
