Default flame out the exaust?

ok, we have all seen it but i want to know why it happens and how i can do it to my z. a guy raced me in a z and every time he shifted he had alil bit of flame come out of the exaust. it was awesome, i know its not the stupid spark plug in the cat thing, im not going all ricer. but i thought it was pretty cool. i have a injen ses true dual exaust, anyone have any idea? a freind said he might have just ran his car rich

The "flame thrower" effect is done by cutting the power to your spark plugs so the unburnt gas flows out thru the exhaust then the spark plug in your tail pipe ignites the gas vapor causing the flame.

It won't work on cars with catalytic convertors like the Z unless you remove them.

Oh, prepare to get flamed (no pun intended) for suggesting doing it to your Z.

I think it looks cool too, but I don't think it would be safe to do with all that plastic bumper.

no, he didnt have the spark plug in the back. it wasnt like all fast and the furious, it was just alil bit and it was blue...ish?

thank you but its not what im talking about, i see turbo'd cars at the strip all the time doing it, its not a spark plug, last thing i want to do is rice out my z

i think that most of the people that do have flames coming out of their exhaust werent aiming just to do that, its more of a thing that happens cause it happens, not a thing that happens cause i want it to happen.

it normally happens when youre runnin rich with test pipes or gutted cats..

An over reved turbo can shoot out flames from the exaust. Thats why you see wrx's, supras and other turboed vehicles doing this.

yeah im told mine does it all the time when my friends are behind me....especially from redline shifts...not like i wanted it to, but its cool that it does it.

Ok well i once had a rx7 and this happends when ever your reving the motor and let off the gas and then all the extra gas that did not burn off reaches the end of the exhause it creats a flame...and a very loud "bang"....

if you run enough gas then any one can do it.....

get alot of breathing mods for absolute non air constriction. Get headers, testpipes, exhaust, cams, spacer, etc. I used to shoot flames when i had straight flowing test pipes but it was too loud/ricey and so i decided to buy HFC.

bigger injectors....change your air/fule ratios, may-b a bigger exhaust then to really make it happen a good Twin Turbo kit.....

a guy around my area with headers, spacer, TP, and full nismo exhaust shoots fire when he shifts, I dont think its rice, but do think it looks bad ***.
