Alot of the guys with test pipes get the flame backfire.

i think its nice myself. its when you car is running rich (towards redline shifts), the unburned fuel enters the exhaust and flows through the test pipes (cats prevent this). then when you let go of the gas to shift to the next gear, air is sucked into the exhaust through the tail pipe and creates more heat inside the exhaust causing an explosion. then when you slam on the gas again it shoots the flame out. i hope that made sense. lol but yeah i think its nice. none of that ricey fast and furious spark plug flames. nice short bursts of flames. it really looks nice in the canyons at night!

 

so, if you get a test pipe and running rich...you get flame out of exhaust???

here you go... my old mustang would do it on the spray if i power shifted. I had an off road h-pipe and dumped exhaust, it looked cool.

 

I thought he had headers too...well either way its tight as hell i think.

 

ok gonna order my test pipe now.....hopefully i could get the flame out of my HKS exhaust

friend of mine had a aftermarket ems for his rx8 made extra fuel dump to the exhaust and did the burst flames..
