Default Soot on back of car?

I own a 2006 PPW and it accumulates this black soot on the back end after about a good week of driving. Does anybody experience this? Am I running too rich? I brush it off with a California duster and it looks good as new.

I get more dirt in that area than any other. I think its because in the morning all the dust and dirt thats in the condensation from the night gets puched back there from the wind of driving, it then dries and leaves dirty marks around my wing and license plate especially. although, mine isnt the type you can just brush off. help that helps.

Totally normal, my car does it too...it's secondary to aerodynamics and the lighter color. Can be hard to dust off.

Make sure u clean that area and wax it, the soot will have a harder time sticking. Its normal. Stock, the car runs slightly rich, but nto enough to cause buildup of soot

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Depending on your exhaust system, soot on on the rear bumper is to be expected. Keep in mind the way that the rear picks up dirt (the license plate ledge is always dirty). So you may be seeing road dirt and assuming that it is from the exhaust.

Black soot with my aftermarket exhaust and also road dirt. Hard to distinguish between the two, but i just whipe it down with quick detailer every 2-3 days.

From what I have heard its probably more road dust than anything else and it has to do with the aerodynamics of the car as well as the rear of the car basically being all fiberglass.

as the air passes over the rear of the car, the bumper area is in a sort of vacuum area. this cause somes static attraction and allows the heavier dirt particles in the air that fall down to stick to the rear.

same here on my PPW, a few days after washing, that rear end gets dusty, a few more days it gets pretty bad, but the front of the car looks pretty clean. Its just dust I guess, unless its exhuast soot which I really doubt.

wax your car and the dust will come off with a little swing of a fur duster

I wipe my rear everyday after finishing. I prefer the clean, shiney look.
