Default Track times by magazines

Maybe some of you technical people can explain to me. I have read almost every article on the Z.There are many things that go into 0-60,1/4 mile etc. track times.Curb weight, gear ratios,hp and torque curves etc.I am perplexed at the times the magazines are getting.R&T has had 2 articles on the Z.It has listed 2 different curb weights for the Track model(3290 & 3310).Nissan lists the curb weight for the Track model at 3225.Why such a difference? For example the Lancer Evolution was tested at 5.1 to 60,yet has less torque, less hp and weighs 10 more lbs than the tested weight of the Z.I love the car the way it is and all the performance but it sure seems to me the testing is very inconsistent.Would like to hear what you think .Thanks

Very simple...

All-wheel drive. The Z can't launch nearly as fast as the Evo can.

I understand that(they also drop clutched at 6000rpms),but what about the difference in curb weights the magazines are getting?

Beats me, but at 3200lbs, a difference of 10-15 should be mostly negligible to performance.

What was the 1/4 mile on that EVO? I bet the Z is pretty close if not faster. The EVO's strong point would be launch and 0-60, but the Z would probably get it in the 1/4 mile.

Nope,

The evo is still faster. The quarter mile is about 13.4 at 103.

This is one of the sites where I got that from:

C&D tested the EVO at 5.4 0-60... so, does that make you feel any better?

There will be cars faster out there.

its stupid looking and belongs in the fast and furios movie.

I believe it doesn't even come without the big wing, but I still like it because it's functional. I think you almost have to be a rally car fan somewhat to appreciate the EVO and WRX STi....

cotmfk-If you read the thread correctly you would have not answered like an idiot.I could care less what cars are faster than the Z.To me the EVO is an ugly econobox with wings. Can you understand that one?

hahaha, Yeah, I understand that one. No problem. Personal preference.

As far as the original post for the thread... Maybe I was biased by the number of other people who are complaining or arguing pointlessly when another car comes out with stats that are better than the Z. It just seemed to me like this was the beginning of that.

But, on your part, there's no need to call names or get all riled up. Internet arguing is pointless. Don't let someone's misinterpreting your thread (my bad) boil your blood.
