I've had this 06 Z for about a month now, and on 2 seperate occasions it has not let me go past 2500 rpms. It seems to just bounce off like a rev limiter Does anyone know what this could be? I took it to the dealership but off course but I could produce the effing problem... thanks everyone

 

I think you're in gimp mode. The computer thinks there's something wrong with the engine. You should probably have it checked out, probably a wonky sensor or something.

 

If you go rag the car cold it may do this...

I'll check the MAF to see if it securley clipped in, but am still stock right now. I was going to put the pop charger from my 03 z (rip) but the bolt top broke of from the filter!! thanks everyone

 

Ive had this same thing happen to me once before. Pulled out of my drive and drove about 1/4 mile to the stop sign never going over 40mph. After pulling away from the stop it wouldnt go over 2500 rpms. So i turned the car off and then back on i guess the computer reset and it was fine. That was at about 15k miles on my 03... At first i thought i had some kind of jacked up valet mode. Hasnt happed since.

 

happened to my friend in his 02 spec-v, i THINK he had his AEM CAI on by then, but the problem ended up being faulty injectors. but its probably a lose MAF in this case..
