weird sound
Got an 06 base 350z in Feb. and I posted a thread a month or so ago about a brief metallic clicking/clatter when I accelerate. Service techs couldn't reproduce it of course - but its there. They say everythings tip top. I keep wondering whether this is just a typical sound that every z makes or not. Since then Ive heard in light traffic other late model nissan cars make the same sound (specifically a murano and maxima). The service manual says something about "spark knock", and that its normal during acceleration or going up a hill. So whats the deal? If thats the way its supposed to sound then it kinda makes the engine sound uninspiring. Thank god for the nice exhaust note. Any feedback would be appreciated. Totally off the subject, I wonder why nissan went for the full convertible and left out the t-top. Personally I think the t-top would look kick ***.
