Default brakin period?

i just got my car last week...
i know every car need to drive slow first 1000~1500miles whatever
do we really need to do that?
what's the difference?! doing it and not doing it..

I recommend that you follow the brake-in period instructions in the owners manual.

Go easy for the first 1,200 miles

Don't go over 4,000 rpm

don't go over 3k rpm for about 1k miles. engine and the tranny oil needs to well lube up all the moving parts.

You use the brakes for as long as you need to to slow down. There is no set "brakin'" period.

I bought my 05 Z with a break-in period of 78 miles on the odometer.

not brakein period.. Break in~ hoho!!
i guess everyone saying first 1K most informatance period rah?
like no over 3K rpm?
that's sad.. for me..

heh i never listened to the break-in thing. i was redlining leaving the dealership. oh well. it was fun. might have taken a bit of life off my car though..

I never wait more than 200 miles to take the car to redline. The only thing I avoid is hard, full throttle shifts for a those first few hundred to let the clutch disk break it. That's it.
