I just received my "Top Secret" 350Z dvd from www.Automotionfx.com and damn, it's great!
I enjoyed watching the image montage, knowing I had a few in there but I wasn't sure which ones were chosen. I saw many photos I'd seen before but then that shot of Jeremy's wrecked 350Z.... sigh.. talk about a reality check. lol
Great work DJ! I can't wait for Volume 2! Maybe you can find some people with s2000's and other cars that might want to take the place of the plane?
Those of you that didn't order one.... you might think about reconsidering, it's great!

Bronx, this isn't that video. You are thinking of The Run, haven't got mine either yet.
This is a dvd being sold by N74DV (might have screwed up his call sign a little, but its close). Its a really good compilation!

Thanks JmanZ!
V.2 is still in the pre-planning stages.... I'm still waiting to see what kind of response I get on the current DVD.
I wanted to do much more with V.1 but I didn't want to invest too much time and $$ if it didn't hit well with the crowd... I'm pleased with the way it turned out.
Rest assured... if V.2 happens later this year it will be the shizzle! some one on one action with Audi's, BMW's, Porsche's, etc... I have a connection at an Audi/Porsche dealership that says he can get me lots of people to do some one on one action with the Z's.
Also would like to do a 5-7 minute short film.... some form of chase action sequence.... hmmmm
anyhow glad you like the "Top Secret" V.1 DVD!!!
I'd love to hear feedback from others who have purchased.
Thanks!

i also got the DVD today,
i dont mean to be a critic, its very very nicely put together, but maybe for V2 you could put some more "action" or something together. the donuts are neat, but perhaps some drifting of cones in a parking lot... the press footage was nice but it got a bit snoozy.

You pretty much put the best on the preview, not bad marketing if you ask me but we didn't really miss anything from the plane video but the specs of the car and the plane. And 2 top it off, it didn't work on my DVD player
So I had to bust out the old PS2 to view it on my cheap *** TV instead of my Surround Sound where I planned viewing it. the video did lack of action and again, you posted your burn out and plane scene which to me were the cream of the crop, I don't mean to be an *** by any means but your not really missing out on anything. Actually anyone want to buy my video $15.00 shipped! Only used once.. Im sure it will be a collectors item for the "hardcore" Z fan. Ahh, their is always E-bay
sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the DVD. If you're unsatisfied in any way I have no problem offering a 100% refund if you'd like to send it back.
I don't want anyone feeling they got ripped.
let me know.

Just got mine Saturday.
I liked it. I agree it did get a little boring watching the DB drive through the rolling hills after about ten minutes but the action stuff was pretty cool Oh yeah, right before Jeremy's wrecked Z, was a really nice looking Brickyard in the snow. MAN was that a sweet car. If I only knew who owned it!
Overall, I really enjoyed the DVD. A must for any hard core Z enthusiast.

Anyhow, I felt that the way you marketed the DVD was that their was going to be more detail specs of the Z vs the Plane which I felt was a good idea. Actually, I guess I was comparing it to one of the most awesome video comparision out. Which compares a Hornet F/A18 VS A Lingenfelter Corvette. Here is the link Chek out the VIDEO I didnt't really expect to get a DVD in which had nothing better to offer than its "preview" instead watching the same thing on a larger screen. And the added sequences were not worth the money spent IMO. Believe me people want to see action not a bunch of Stock Z's coasting (Cruzing). I don't feel like I need to return the DVD to you since you are in business and fullfilled your end of the bargain. I would rather save you the trouble and sell it elsewhere. Just to help you out next time, and in no means am I flaming you or anything. Just trying to give you positive feedback to learn from your previous projects. I hope this quote sticks to you "Don't reveal your best cards at first". To sum it up for those who haven't bought it.
easy friendly menu, check compatibility because it doesnt work on all DVD Players. But if you have a DVD Rom or Playstation your ok. If you have seen both previews to this feature than you have seen it all. Unless you want to see stock Z's driving and unseen footage which contains a Z just driving in a beautiful mountain area and other bonus materials. If your a hardcore Z fan than this DVD is a must for your collection to keep it archieved.
Final Score 3/10
comments taken and considered... thx...
just a sidenote however... on my site automotionfx.com, it's pretty well established that the main cut on the DVD is the "classified" film footage. The remaining tracks are just there to add a bit of flavor to that. I was careful not to mislead anyone. The site explains exactly what's on the DVD. Anyone who has bought it had to have visited the site to place the order and the order button is at the bottom of the project description copy.
Unless someone work's for an ad agency/production company that does advertising for Nissan it's impossible to gain access to that 35mm film footage.
For the hardcore Z enthusiast it's a great buy just for that fact... to have posession of restricted/limited access footage.
I suppose you thought it'd be more along the lines of "The Run" as far as action level.... keep in mind I had a very limited budget to work with....
my offer still stands though... I believe in customer satisfaction and if you or anyone feels they want a refund I'll comply.
All things considered I feel it's worth it's price, especially as a "Z" library item.

I guess it all comes down to the level of 350Z fan you truly are. I agree it got a little tiring watching the DB footage but like DJ said, this is Nissan footage we'd have not seen if it weren't for this little gem.
When I got the press kit from Nissan back in July 2002, I ripped it and posted it for all, and then shortly there after virtually every tv spot had either video from the press kit, or photos from the press kit. Heck, some magazines are still using those rehashed images rather than new pix. The Nissan footage that is featured in this dvd but it's hasn't been seen before. It wasn't in the press kits, and we wouldn't have seen it if it weren't for this dvd.
I thought the menu was cool and the graphics were more than well done. The computer animation sequences when the Z and the Plane were being introduced... that was tight. Yes, the preview summed that scene up but this is crystal clear dvd we're talking about versus a smaller compressed web video. I like the fact that I can watch it on my 36" Wega and sit back and drool.
I understand that Wicked4u2c wasn't pleased in the first message, but like DJ said, customer satisfaction guaranteed. I think he did one hell of a great job and I for one will gladly shell out 20 bucks for volume two should it ever see the light of day.
If you're a hardcore 350Z enthusiast, as Doc mentioned, this dvd is a must own and yes, Doc, your Brickyard looked amazing. I noticed it in the Calender as well. Damn, you're getting some press! It's one of the better Brickyard photos I have seen, no question.

Thought it was great and well put together. Music was awesome. Montage was great. I would only suggest to add more member photos instead Nissan offl photos. Road trip was cool. It would've been great to have more clips with action. Looking forward to v2.
