Even tough I know it will
, I odn't care if the Z doesn'y even dominate the class. I would be happy just seeing it out on the track to represent Nissan! I wonder if it could realistically compete with the likes of a 911 or f350? Hopefully we will get to see it!

i think it'd be more realistic if nissan was going to enter their next skyline in that class. it'd maybe compete the same year that the skyline comes out in america. the skyline, to me, would be much more competitive. no offense, but 350z versus corvette, m3, ferrari? all of which can get to 60 a second faster...stock? hmm.

The Z will definitly be able to compete against the likes of Ferrari, m3, etc ..
The Skyline will probably end up replacing the Z in a couple years but I heard that the modifications made to the Z car will be tremendous and the sport suspension of the new Z will dominate the competition.

That's great!
For the past few years it seemed Nissan's main motorsport budget was being spent on its Infiniti IRL cars. I personaly don't think Nissan, or Infiniti rather, has really gotten much out of the money they spent there these past few years and when they made the announcement that they would be pulling out of IRL I was relieved. I hoped at the time that this meant they would now concentrate on racing in leagues such as the ALMS where the cars they enter bear more of a resemblance to the cars they acctualy sell in showrooms.

That would be great! I am taking my Z on its first road trip to the Petite le mans at Roadatlanta in mid-October. It would be great if Nissan was racing the Z there!

The GT class is not the class the Factory Vette, and Prodrive 550 compete in. That is the GTS class. The GT class is the class dominated by the Porche 996 GT3 RS, right now. The M3 dominated last year, with its controversial V8. I would suspect this is the class the 350Z will compete in. It just doesn't have the displacement to compete with a 7.0 liter (IIRC) Vette. But, I can't wait to see one on track in any class.

If someone wants to race a vette in GT class they car. This is why you need to ask ALMS for specs for "your" car in "your" class. For example, maybe in GRS class, the 550 is allowed to have carbon fiber body panels, unlimited width and any spoiler they wish to use. Where in GT class maybe they are only alowed stock body panels, stock width and no rear spoiler, and they must add 300lbs. These figures are just examples, but they try to make the cars even with regards to performance. If you have ever watched the Speedworld challenge GT races you will notice that the NSX is supercharged and that the Audi S4's are actually using the RS4 engine. These combos proved to be too fast and they have since been adding weight to these cars every race.

VandyZ-
I read your post in the other thread after I had posted here. I missed the part on the broadcast about the GT class Vette. That is kinda why I specified the Factory backed Corvette Racing. Is the GT class Vette part of Corvette Racing? I would be interested to hear what restrictions, if any, they will put on it. And/or what the differences betweent the two are. Same for the two 550's.
Oh, and I think I made a mistake I called the 550 the Prodrive 550 and I think that is racing in the FIA GT series not ALMS. Who backs the one in ALMS?
Sorry if my previous post came off wrong. I didn't intend for it to be a "no your wrong" kinda thing.
