It shouldn't be that different from other MT cars.. Good to know you have yet another question answered. Hopefully, you continue learning on these forums.. This has to be one of the few threads that hasn't been filled with "SEARCH" or "NEWB" posts in it.. congrats

It's all good. That's what your here for, right? You will continue to learn as long as you read and ask the right things on these boards.. Congrats on your buy and have fun, but be safe (I would know how easily this thing can get out of control).

dump, yes...to quickly release the clutch while revving the engine

slip, sorta...when your clutch slips, this means that you're either taking entirely too long to fully depress or release the clutch OR when a clutch simply does not catch (the pressure plate). if you're slipping due to the latter, it will feell like your car is hessitating to move forward even though you are in gear, have released the clutch, and are pressing the gas pedal.

FULLY pressed in? no wear on clutch.

That e-brake trick sounds kind of strange to me.

It worked...I get it now. IF the clutch was slipping...putting it in second and having the ebrake up would of caused the car to slip back into nuetral pretty much. But if it wasnt slipping and you caught 2nd gear and let off the clutch..it would stall out. You guys are helpful. Maybe one day i can get a blue striped avatar...sike

Funny thing is I do not drive fast at all. Believe it or not I stay at 65 95percent of the time. The one time I go to speed up my car ****s up, lol. BUt seems cool .

Another way is to put the car in 4th or 5th and try to drive off. Car should stall.

Actually not, you can pull away in a high gear, you just need to slip the clutch more. With the E-brake pulled it's impossible to pull away, because the back wheels cannot turn at all. Therefore, you stall, no matter how slowly you release the clutch.

Well I'm the real newbie here then. I purchased the car 2 days ago... First night lets just say it was awful. My friends took me to an empty parking lot the next day now I can drive woo hooo. This is the first MT car I have bought so far though I used to ride a motorcycle.

You will know when your clutch is gone bad. It feels like an automatic. Although you dump the clutch, car starts smooth and nice. In other word, rpm and speedometer don't agree each other like they used to.
