I have the same mfn problem. Damn cats love the redline z. I had one put a thin scratch in my hood at a friends house. I wanted to kill the cat and my friend for owning a cat. I think I am going to K-mart to buy the spray that keeps animals off of furniture and other things. I will be spraying that on the under side (inside) of some of my panels: bumpers, skirts and mabye underside of the hood. I hope it works cause it is hard to hit a cat with a brick if its on my car. I thought an electric charge on the car would work to fry those little bastards.

I have a car cover on my Z and that protects it. (i park mine outside, but still get paw prints on the cover) But otherwise i press the panic button if i see one coming close to the car, it scares the shyet out of em.

The only real way i think that you could get them to stop is to set off alarm when its sittin on ur hood (as said by another person). By doing this it will scare the **** out of it and maybe it will slip when its freaking out and fall off the car, and that will be the last time it goes up there. plus i cant see cats doing any kind of damage that a buffer wont take out.. good luck.

I had some severe scratches from a cat on my previous car's roof. Normally nothing happens if they're just sitting on it. Once they get scared or surprised, the nails come out and there goes your nice finish.

I was able to get rid of them with some polishing...

Had exactly the cat problem as you described, so I moved. At one point, I was thinking about multiple mouse traps (cheap, spring loaded type) with food on them around/under the car. I pictured the cat may get one clip on the nose for a while. Never had the chance to try it. If you want ot try it, make sure you don't get sued. And let us know if it worked.

You wont get sued. No one owns a cat they are considered wild and free game. Mouse trap is a good idea, maybe with a little tuna on it. HAR HAR.

when i had the maxima, a family of kittens used to get caught in my engine bay by somehow climbing onto the plastic guard that protects the engine. i solved that problem by tossing them in the trunk and relocating them to another loving neighborhood. the family cat sometimes gets on my car, doesn't bother me becuase she knows me and doesn't get startled when i come out... are their claws really enough to leave permanent deep scratches? shouldn't whatever blemish come off with some wax? i guess i've never had a cat problem but i've had to deal with a group of kids kicking a socker ball smack on my window (lucky for them wasn't the door)...
