Hitting Rev Limiter....

Hitting Rev Limiter....
Quick noob question.
Yesterday I was driving around and I guess zoned out or something and accidentally hit the rev-limiter when I was in 2nd. As most of you know then the RMP shoots down a bit and you cant accelerate.
My question is, when I did this disturbing act did I damage anything? And is there any harm in hitting the limiter? I know its there for a reason so that you dont pass it, and that if you hit it your fuel basically cuts off.... And I know there really is no point to hit the rev-limiter again but Im very upset that I may have done something very very stupid that I may regret later.
thanks... and I guess flame one =P

No expert but I don't think you hurt anything. The rev limiter or fuel cut off is there so you don't damage your engine. When you hit the limiter and fuel was cut that is why your rpms dropped. When going through the gears like that you want to get as close to the limiter as possible without hitting the limiter.

the only way to damage our car is to downshift too far. if you down shift too far then the re limiter wont help you tehre like it did when u zoned out. rev limiter is there so taht nothing can happen to your car. no damage done...dont worry

a. There is a pool of oil on the garage floor.
b. The garage floor is clean as a whistle.
If the answer is a, you broke something. If the answer is b, take a cruise and enjoy the Z.

I was about to say somthing about that, your not supposed to go over 3k RPMs before its 1200 mile mark, for its break in. looks like you might have some problems down the road, maybe not, you'll have to see
