There really isn't any comparison. I've driven both and they don't even fall into the same class. Z.

i actually like the looks of the tib. it is pretty nice looking to me. i just went to the hyundai site and built a nice tib se model. But i think its all on what you want. You gotta be happy with your decision. Both cars have their pros and cons, as no car is perfect. The z is nice, i really like it and i really like the tib, but they are in different classes. i think the tib would be better against the new eclipse. Those two cars i would think are in direct competition with each other

Doesnt the Z have a engine from a Renault? Aleast thats what the guy from Top Gear (5th Gear) said, he hates the car for some reason.. Or was the engine designed by someone in Japan and Renault just manufactures it?

Hyundai = bleh. I drove one as my first car when I turned 16. Want to know why they have such a great warrenty? Because the car isn't reliable like a Nissan. The car had about 35k on it, but it went through 3 clutches in the time I owned it, synchro's got all fubar'd.

Doing work on it yourself isn't fun either. Korean design = lose imho.

I'm not sure that Nissan is being bought out by GM. From a news article I read, GM is only buying Nissan's shares of Fuji Heavy (Fuji Heavy Industries, maker of Subaru vehicles).

But overall, I'd take the Z over the Tiburon. Not because its a performer, RWD, looks nicer, etc. Because the feeling you'd get from owning one of Nissan/Datsun's legendary cars. It all started in 1969 with the 240Z (also the limited run off of 240ZG's in 1971), then came the 260Z, 280Z, 300ZXs, then the 350Z. Its one of Nissan's most memorable cars to have. I don't believe the Tiburon has a history of cars like that. Nissan's cars are usually more on their amazing history that makes them so good.

(Note: the 240ZX, 260ZX, and 280ZX are the North American versions of the Z counterparts.)
