I'd race a new viper if only to see how fast it is...hell i'd race a lot of cars not expecting/trying to win but just to see the acceleration. I'd love to line up against a 911 GT2 or prancing horse or raging bull...i could use less smugness on the part of some of the owners and a bit more understanding that i just wanted to observe but it goes with the territory.
Glad you had the chance to tell us what it was like.

i drive a mitsubishi eclipse, and i raced a viper, corvette and porche boxter and correra...no i didnt think i was going to win but i wanted to actuially see the diffrence in the cars not just reading specs on the net or in a mag
an eclipse is fairly fast but i wanted to see real power and i saw it...about 9 blocks in front me when i shifted to second...

exactly, i wasn't expecting to win...or even hold for that matter. It was the newest viper yet, and i didn't know anything about them, let alone seen one on the streets. I just wanted to see what it would do to me

Look on the bright side. With about 900psi of boost you'll kill him. Untill of course he looks into FI. Does anyone know what the aftermarket is like on the new SRT10's?

I've heard the new AMG E55 will give a viper a run for it's money. Apparently they spank the old viper and with a every so slightly smaller pulley they'll spank the new viper. HA in a family sedan.
