when deciding on these 2 cars, you gotta ask yourself this, do you want a v8 powered factory supercharged car that doesn't handle very well but can do the 1/4 in 16 seconds? If yes, then buy a Z.

do you want a car that can carve up the twisties, but only comes in a 1.6 liter engine turbo charged making 200horses to the front left wheel? If yes, get an s2000.

enough said.
Your statement contains 7 factual mistakes, and I couple of opinions I don't particularly agree with either. Oh wait....this is a joke, right?

B for S2K.

Having owned both cars. The S2K is extremely agile, you can switch lanes alot easier, the steering wheel feels very light. Stock S2K wheels and tires are 16s which are more manuverable than 17s or 18s that is stock on the Z. Unless you track, I don't need agility. More happy with Z than S2K.

WTF were you smoking, since it must be some powerful stuff.

I don't know weather to take this seriously or as a joke, since there are so many factual errors in it.

But just to make one corrective statement, the Z is definitely a sports car. I say this since I currently have a true muscle car (02 Trans Am WS6), and the Z vastly out-handles it. Of course the one drawback is that the trans am has far more torque (350 ft-lbs), which makes feel much faster in a straight line. I can definitely overlook this though since I find that sports cars like the Z are far more fun to drive than muscle cars.

But yeah, there is no way the Z is a muscle car. The Z definitely drives like a sports car, and I personally find it to be like a cheaper FR version of the porsche boxster S. It has 2 seats, it definitely corners well (and tight), it weighs in about 3k pounds. That and like the boxster S, it may not have the most powerful engine around, bet it definitely is quick enough to have fun with.

man your off with everything.
the Z ia v6 and not v8
100k for suspension?
the S is 2.0l from 00 - 02 and 2.2l from 03 - 06 and doesn't have 1.6l
but i guess it also depends on which year car your going to get cause im prety sure the earlier Z models are almost the same as the S with ponies but the Z had more torque. I could be wrong though.

anyways, i would go with B for track and A for bling in the cabin and some serious power in the new m6 models.

The elise doesn't stand a chance, are you kidding me? The lotus elise has been said to be about the best handling production car ever made. It may only have the 180hp toyota i4, but since it just under 2,000 lbs it manages to be quick as a corvette. It can do 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, 0-100 in 12.9 seconds, and a 1/4 mile in 13.3 seconds. It can also handle a 1.04G skidpad, the car definitely outclasses the Z and S2000 at the track. One of the main drawbacks with this track beast is how it is a horrible car when it comes to daily driving. The interior is very stripped down, and offers little space (and almost no luxury). It is basically like a street legal race car.

the elise is a horrible car, that little piece of junk could not stand up to a Z in straight line power, and the S2000 in the twisties.

what does the elise weigh? Like 3600lbs? With a 1/4 tank of gas??!!!, to top it all off, its only a 2.7liter engine from mazda. who the hell woudl put a 2.7 liter engine in such a heavy car?

Look, price for price, I would get the Z because it out handles the elise, and can almost out handle the S in the twisties. If you're looking for a nice cruising car, defintely get the S because it has a softer ride and can hold more people than the elise.

If you must get an elise, atleast try to get it with the factory sport package because if you don't, it won't handle very well.

on a side note, if you're looking for both power, AND handling, why not just get the new pontiac solstice? its a very nice vehicle, comes with rear wheel drive, 345horses from an inline 5 engine, and can out handle any car in its class, including the s2000.

S2000. It is lighter than the Z. Weight has a substantial impact on handling and braking. The S2000 doesn't have the horsepower or torque of the Z, but it is easier to stop and turn because it weighs less.

Check out this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV9MjXVoTXc An S2000 races several Zs and a S15 Sylvia near the end.

The S2000 kicked butt at the last Redline Time Attack at California Speedway, winning in both the Street RWD and also the Modified RWD classes.

The S2000 is one of only 3 "street" RWD cars that have been faster than my Z at any Redline Time Attack event.

But I'm working to change that for next time... got some new weapons now.
