Exclamation coins fell in emergency brake!

I had a couple if coins fall into the emergency brake (hand brake) slit. Two questions: Can this cause damage? Can/should they be removed? Thanks!

I lost a hard candy and almost lost a french fry down the e-brake slit of my Accord. That was years ago and no problems so far.

Taking that part of the console apart is fairly easy, you should probably look into it.

I may take apart my Pathfinder console as well to get at all the change that fell into the e-brake slit over the years. Must be about $2.50 in change! Athough I seem to remember in other cars the change actully dropped out of the bottom of the car ... is that possible?
