When I looked at an '06 the other day they told me it was the first year to have cup holders...or did they put them in '05? I was shocked to believe that the other years skipped such a basic thing as cup holders. So what do you guys do?

 

This is possibly the most original question I have ever read on this site. Kudos.

 

What do I do? Well... you wont find ANY cups in my car... ever.... my cupholder usually holds my cellphone.

 

There is technically 3 cup holders in the 03-05 350Z, for which I use none. No food or liguid will ever find it's way in my 350Z other then grocery in the trunk.

 

I always believe everything the dealer tells me too.

 

Well... at least, take comfort in the fact that your new '06 Z will have more cupholders than most minivans.

i only use the 2 holders inside the arm rest.

 

no food, no drinks is my policy even though i have 04.5. not worth the risk. only exception are bottled drinks only and only if the cap is on tightly before entering the vehicle.

 

There is one pop-out cup holder where the glove compartment should be on an ordinary car.

There are two places to put drinks in the middle console as well.

 

I bought the Z as a SPORTS CAR, and therefore the fact that it came with a 6-speed manual, good power, Cf driveshaft, and solid aftermarket performance suppport with a decent curb weight kinda overshadowed the need for cup holders. As others have said, no food or drink in the car for me. But if you really wanted to, there is a retractable cup holder in the dash.

i use my cupholder on the dash all the time. if something spills. oh well, thats why i clean the bi tch every couple of days

Mine is a 04.5 and it came with 3 cup holders. I only use one now since i gutted everything.

 

Sweet. I can mix my drinks and drive.

2 in the doors, 2 in the console, and 2 in that flip up compartment...I had an '04 and took the little thingy out of it before I traded it in...
