Well I have 2500 miles now. Not only do I probably need a new tranny, my Z started beeping for no reason that I can understand. This loud beeping from the driver's side underdash area. It beeps randomly, sometimes often and sometimes just once in a great while. There are 2 patterns - one short beep or 12 long beeps. They don't come in any kind of order, but it's always one of those 2. No lights are on or anything, WTF is going on?

 

Seat belt sensor, open door while the keys in the ignition, or headlight sensor?? Maybe one of those is malfunctioning. I would have it checked out by the dealer.

 

Why do you think you need a new tranny already?

 

It's never been right, wants to grind a little going into gears unless you REALLY baby it. I thought maybe it would get better after a few K, but no dice. Someone else on here had the same problem and the dealer replaced their tranny and it shifts like butter now.

 

Dealer says they can't replicate any of the problems. Gotta love that new car warranty

 

Did you try another dealer, if not that would be my suggestion.

 

What dealer in IN did you take it to?

 

Hubler Nissan. I'm going to take it elsewhere next week, not sure where yet.

 

Tire pressure monitor? You see a yellow lil light on the left side of the cluster?

 

That was my guess.
Your tranny will tell you it's bad by grinding, not by beeping, but I've never had a tranny problem with mine.

 

aftermarket microwave?

 

No warning lights are on. I think maybe I'll let a bunch of air out of the tires and see if it's the same beep though.

 

Hmm, it must then be something other than the tire pressure warning light. You're describing beeps, whereas the pressure warning light is just a ~5 sec beep and then goes away.
